In 1983, Frontier Housing Corporation renovated a Hardware Store into a six unit apartment complex to help house low-income families below 500 of the area media. A grant was received from NYS Housing Trust Fund

In 2010, renovations were made to the Memorial Apartment complex as a result of grant funding received from North Country HOME Consortium.  The six newly remodeled apartments are targeted to families with incomes at or below 500 of area median income according to current HUD Section 8 income limits. Basic rent for a one (1) bedroom apartment is $370.00, two (2) bedroom $445.00, and three (3) is $490.00 with tenants responsible for heat, hot water and electric, which is expected to be approximately $177.00 per month. Frontier pays for water, sewer and refuse.

Memorial Apartments was dedicated to Doris Kostyk, Glen Larmonth, Glenn Dillenbeck and Garland Jumps on November 6, 1987. These individuals work very hard in the planning, developing and recruiting low-income tenants to occupy these units.
